1. Be sure to take a video when preparing.
Check and fix unsightly habits you didn’t know about (stilt walking, shaking legs, etc.). Also, you need to fix the parts that are lacking, such as voice or dance dynamics. Since there are no set acceptance criteria, minimizing mistakes is very important, so give yourself feedback on even the smallest details. You can also get used to being in front of a camera in the process.
2. Do not act useless in the audition field.
The day of the audition goes really fast. There is not much time per person, so don’t talk nonsense. Also, you have to get rid of all the times you breathe and drink water because you are nervous. Your turn may pass immediately.
3. Not just one thing, but variously!
It’s important to be really good at one thing, such as vocal or dance, but you have to be able to show a variety of charms. As there are many all-around entertainers these days, you should not treat dancing and personal skills as optional, so prepare them well.
4. Confident and active!
Companies always like a confident attitude. Show off everything you prepared calmly. In particular, one of the points that the judges consider to be very important is whether you know how to actively express yourself. It’s because you have to confidently appeal yourself in front of the public.
5. Subjectivity
One of the most popular feedbacks from JYP during the audition was “Be yourself.” You can become an independent artist only when you know your own personality and color. You have to fully understand your own strengths and weaknesses, and be yourself, not someone else.
6. If you have a dream, take the challenge!
HYBE said that they value individual development potential, passion and sincerity for music, and evaluate the technical aspects of vocal, rap, and dance, but also value how much they can grow by receiving training from the company. Even if you are not ready, give it a try!
